This girl has real talent and her personality is very bubbly. Had an idea she’d be good when I saw her on Children in Need
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This easily could have been the BEST TANGO EVER of strictly - it was full on, dynamic, super sharp, it had TERRIFIC musicality and loads of proper competitive ballroom tango content! Maisie has created some BREATHTAKING lines, her top line and her head position were absolutely SENSATIONAL... it was sharp as the sharpest sword in the word, and the technicality, she kept glued to Gorka all the way through and her positions and shapes were at an UNBELIEVABLY high standard!!! I'm am totally speechless, she is so, so talented and Gorka has doing a magnificent job with her! I didn't mind the two tiny-tiny wobbles during the spins at the beginning and at the end because the were almost unnoticeable but she did missed one or two heel leads, and that's why I can't give her a 10... but what can I say?! Phenomenal, mesmerizing, pure art of ballroom dancing, utterly gorgeous and sensational!
My score: a 9.
It's difficult to not fanboy over her - she's one of the best dancers that I have seen doing strictly (or DWTS for that matter!)
Her frame is pretty good and I think she complements Gorka extremely well - both on and off camera. Waiting for Argentine Tango already :)
Ashley!? Alexandra!? Faye!? Alisha!? Zoe Ball!? Definitely not the best of the non pro dancers on ability alone.
@j4Rose I do agree and disagree at the same time, I think they deserved the 24 but Motsi gave them a 9 which personally I think was a bit high. Masie I think was the best tonight.
If you look at the way she sold the dance and the technique she applied, I believe it was worth straight 9’s and a Bruno 10. The little head placements the finer details it what a lot have brushed away.

Well that was A LOT faster than i thought it would be. For me Maisie is one of the two solid performers who you know you can look forward to each week. Her shaping (Martini position in the words of Giovanni) was brilliant and there was next to no gapping throughout. The girl certainly knows how to dance and how to act out a performance. 9/10

I mean I just have to applaud her because that was incredible. Arguably the best frame I've seen in a long time from a celebrity, she looks so elongated and elegant but still gave full power. She's quickly becoming a front runner. (9)

Kelvin won last year, but then in the previous years Ashley Roberts/Faye Tozer, Alexandra Burke, Danny Mac and Kellie Bright deserved to win. Then again, Caroline Flack and Abbey Clancy won

It seems that after this performance, they decided to lumber Maisie with awful music and horrible themes. Then Shirley started to pick away at her confidence. We cant celebrate a girl who loves to dance and perform, but have to label her as "too confident and cocky" yet men are given so much latitude.Bottom 2 last week with the highest scoring ChaCha of the series, says it all.

I never thought Shirley was that harsh, she knew she could do well so she pushed her, and it seemed to pay off. The only time I got annoyed was when she vowed to save Max in the dance off.
This was just too perfect, like what?! Week 2, It may be Gorka's year this year! Didn't know what Craig was talking about when she apparently 'lost balance' Can't wait to see what routines she nails next, It kind of gave me that spooky Halloween feel to it just like Clara & Aljaz's Routine, she definitely knows how to dance and she has amazing technical skills, Another 9!

Same this is one of my favourite tangos I have ever seen on the show. The judges were quick to criticise they completely forgot to pick out her professional even better like frame and footwork. Her musicality is on another level. She has so many dances I love...
Sadly not. Would have loved to see it again.
I think this dance is world class, I continue to look back on it as one of the best dances of SCD

Just discovered this and I'm shook--the Strictly competitors make DWTS look like trash! I mean, real frame and connection? Real tango? And on week 2?!
Am British and I just started watching dancing with the stars because I finished watching all of the strictly Come Dancing seasons and I can definitely tell you that the British competitors are much better than the Americans.
To be honest, Maisie isn't representative of most Strictly contestants. She easily the best technical dancer this year by a mile. She's probably comparable with someone like Zendaya on DWTS as someone in their teens when competing and with a solid background in dance.
I'd definitely agree that the US version seems to care very little about putting enough content in each dance. This was a pure ballroom Tango, no theatrics.
I notice in the US, that they dance so much out of hold and usually have major gapping issues that don't get picked up on.
DWTS pays very little attention to the rules of any given dance. I have seen a supposedly fantastic VW which had only two bars in hold, and that hold was completely incorrect. Unfortunately, Strictly seems to be going further and further towards DWTS as rules are increasingly ignored every year.

I loved them last week and I love them even more this one! The tango is one of my favourite dances, and they absolutely smashed it.
This is the first thing that made me miss competitive ballroom dancing in a really long time. The performance is so good, I keep returning. Maisie and Gorka did amazing!

This girl is FIRE and I love it! Her acting really helps her exude confidence, something quite a few contestants struggle with at the moment. It makes her performance look more crisp and she's just in a different league to everyone else!
Unfortunately even though this is a dance competition and Maisie clearly being the best doesn’t matter. You either have THAT universal personality or you don’t, that’s the deciding factor for most of the British public.
@@megan5529 But no two people have the same personality, it just seems to me that people like passing her confidence as cocky. Alexandra faced the same reaction when she was in it, I don't know what's wrong with working your butt off and then being proud of how you've done? Some people are also annoyed that she's doing well from week 1 but it's a dancing competition, surely the purpose is giving it all you've got and performing well? I just don't understand the public! 😂
They’d prefer someone like bill or Caroline to win. Makes me a bit ill even thinking about that possibility.. at this point I just want the public to be sane enough to give us all of Maisie’s dances. They can then do whatever their hearts desire...
@@megan5529 Tbh I want the best dancer to win, that's what everyone should want. Bill was great this week but it's all about consistency - Caroline was good last week but not this week. Gorka knows how to get the best out of his partners, I'm pretty sure and hopeful she'll go the whole way! 🤞🏼
Amberlynn's Multiple Fupa's I don't mind really...the best dancer rarely wins anyway. Like you though, I'd like to see as many dances from Maisie as possible.
Oh wow. This was by far the best dance of the night!!!! She absolutely got the v shape whilst keeping the body contact which is hard to do when leaning back so far. Fantastic sticatto and her head movements were not only sharp but synchronised all the way through. Very good spotting with her feet too always look for that in a Tango. Frame was very nice but the best thing is her confidence. She just ozzes it, I really think she could be one of the best dancers strictly could have ever seen. Hold was reasonably changeable but not too much. She totally drived the dance, it was almost like watching 2 professionals. I definitely think this could have received a 10 if it was later in the series. I would give it a 10 if she would sort her finishes just make them more smoother. But other than that it was close to perfection. *9/10* PS Motsi give Ranvir the same score as Maisie 🤔🤔🤔

Really enjoyed this, so much drama and passion! After seeing this she's for sure a contender, the way she matched Gorka with her footwork and her hold already! I have to say, I do find her a little annoying personality-wise but that doesn't stop me from loving her dancing. Also loved the goth look and the beautiful lace dress. And Gorka was entrancing.
Very good, very emotional with strong technique for this stage. She is definitely one to watch.

I agree! I want Maisie to win too :) I'm not a really big fan of Hrvy and Janette. I like Maisie's sense of humour, and she is just a genuine nice girl for sure. And she is a spectacular dancer! She will go far i believe. Keep reaching for gold Maisie and Gorka!

This was just the right amount of intensity. Anymore it would have been OTT. She got the balance just right.
@@megan5529 100% agree. Personally though, I thought it needed more power in the drive. I don't know enough about tango to know where that comes from. Footwork perhaps? Idk, I just wanted a little bit more.
I think her neck movements are just half a beat behind Gorky, great dance tho!

I wish you were wrong, this routine caught me breathless and a celeb hasn’t done that since Jay.. I really would love her to stay long enough to watch her dance ALL the routines. Gorka is a proper choreographer so I really would love to see them dance together till the end even if she unfortunately doesn’t win..

I feel like that isn’t right.. I don’t feel anything after each couple dances not even all mighty Harvey..Maisie is just too good for the competition unfortunately.. plus she hasn’t had any ballroom training before correct me if I’m wrong. Jay had some background in dance yet won, but Maisie is a young girl and people automatically take a dislike to young girls on strictly for some reason.

Still don't like her personally but taking my personal feelings aside, this was a very good. Loads of amazing content and it should be commended how long she was in hold for. I wished we didn't have all this messing about before the hold but once it was in hold it was great.

At she's not as experienced as HRVY who was in sports relief the greatest dancer and also does complex dance routines in some of his music videos. But then proceeds to say in the intro that he is bad at dancing....
Kind of ridiculous the crap she gets but he’s excused for. Those spot turns they were praising him about.. yeah he’s clearly done all of that before.

Yas! So good. Tbh I have No Idea who any of these celebs are cuz I live in the U.S. but once I see them dance some of the celebs grow on me, Maisie is one of them.
Lol, well I'm British and I only ever know possibly 3 or 4 every year, it's definitely from watching them go through the experience that they grow on you and you find your favourites.

I haven’t watched strictly in a while but I have seen online them saying a few people over the last few years including saffron and Maisie have some sort of dance experience? Is this true, I’m not sure as I only see these snippets? They didn’t back when I was younger and would watch but if true it does seem a little unfair. I would say DWTS is the American version of Strictly. Strictly is the original
She's had dance training in the past. Hardly fair on the other competitors. Thats why the judges are consistently hard on her

You are free to have that opinion but it does not cut it when you are learning to ballroom dance, some people just have a natural ability, or rhythm, you cant teach that! And to be fair it doesn’t matter, the public will pick the winner!
